My Journey in Golf

My golf journey began at the tender age of 11 in Sheffield, England, where my father's encouragement sparked what would become a lifelong passion for the game. Those early years proved foundational, as I quickly progressed to achieve multiple club championships and earned the honor of representing Sheffield in team competitions.

After honing my skills through years of dedicated practice and competition, I made the decisive step to turn professional, embarking on a new chapter in my golfing career. However, it was a serendipitous holiday to Phuket in 1999 that would ultimately reshape my golfing path. Captivated by Thailand's rich culture, remarkable cuisine, and warm hospitality, what began as an escape from British winters evolved into a permanent move when I was offered employment opportunities.

The transition to Thai golf proved highly successful. Among my proudest achievements was claiming victory at the Nike Open at Blue Canyon Country Club on three separate occasions. This prestigious course, known for hosting world-class tournaments, became a venue where I consistently demonstrated my ability to compete at the highest level.

Upon turning 50, I embraced new challenges on the senior circuit, joining both the TSPGA and TCT professional tours. My competitive drive remained strong, resulting in five tournament victories that showcased my continued ability to perform at an elite level.

Today, I combine my playing career with my role as an instructor at the Laguna Phuket Golf PGA Academy, where I share my expertise in both golf and fitness. Drawing upon my unique experience of playing professionally in both British and Thai conditions, I help students develop their skills while adapting to the distinct challenges of golf in tropical conditions.

This journey, from Sheffield's municipal courses to Thailand's prestigious fairways, represents not just a career in golf, but a life transformed by the game I love.
